Nearly 10,000 households in Nepal Receive Aid from IM Partner

The first earthquake hit Nepal on April 25, 2015. Within days, American Baptist International Ministries (IM) had reached out to help with the first phase of relief efforts—-emergency care and supplies—-with funds from the American Baptist Churches’ One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) offering. This aid was sent to IM’s partners in Nepal, including United Mission to Nepal (UMN).

As of June 8, UMN had provided relief to 9,980 households, including many in the hardest-hit and most difficult-to-reach areas. In this three-minute video, see how UMN brought hope to a remote and impoverished village that had been devastated by the earthquake.

Thank you for your support of OGHS, which has helped to make this relief possible. As you continue to give to Earthquake Relief Aid for Nepal, IM’s partners in Nepal can move on to the second phase of relief efforts, providing temporary shelters and supplies to survivors as they face the coming monsoon season. Thank you for helping IM come alongside our sisters and brothers in Nepal as they struggle to survive, recover and rebuild in the wake of this tragedy.

Additional funds are being sought to continue the relief and development efforts. Click here to give.
